Will I be expected to help my child with homework in the second language?
Bilingual homework packets are sent home. Homework is an extension of what students have already learned in class. We encourage you as a parent/guardian to keep working with your child in your native language. Remember that progress in one language, translates to progress in the second language.
What do teachers do to make sure my child understands the lesson in the second language?
The teachers are trained to teach students learning in a second language. They use a variety of language strategies to ensure student comprehension and access to the curriculum.
